Submission Guidelines
Stroud & Hall accepts submissions in these areas: American politics, history, biography, culture, and entertainment. Because we plan to publish only 2-3 volumes per year, our process is highly selective.
Your book proposal should contain the following information:
a. Full name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the author.
b. A complete biographical sketch or vita of the author. Be sure to indicate any publication (book, article or journal) experience which relates to the proposal.
c. An outline of the book indicating the titles and focus (briefly) of each chapter. If you have one or more sample chapters, these are also welcomed.
d. The audience for the book:
i. Why should this book be published?
ii. Who is the audience for this book?
iii. What contribution will this book make?
iv. Which existing books would compete with this book, and what makes this project unique?
e. The current status of the manuscript:
i. Is the manuscript completed?
ii. How long will you take to complete it?
Note: All sections outlined above must be completed in order for your proposal to be evaluated. If possible, please submit your proposal in Microsoft Word format, Rich Text Format, or as an Adobe Acrobat file.
Please e-mail proposals to: bookinfo@stroudhall.com
After submitting the proposal, please allow us adequate time to evaluate it. Our process may take several months to complete. We may request additional chapters or information.
Because Stroud & Hall Publishers is concerned about the quality of its publications, our evaluation process considers many aspects of a book. Often, our acceptance of a proposal is contingent upon the manuscript being shaped or reworked in order to make the book better meet the needs of the audience. If this is the case with your proposal, one of our editors will be in touch with you.
